I, Kim Echols, was able to join 5 year old, Liam Brown, on his family tour and interview day at the Madonna Learning Center here in Memphis, Tennessee on Friday, March 11th, 2016.  I was Liam's advocate
and his family's friend.  In my professional opinion, this school is the best possible place in this city for Liam and maybe even in our entire country.  I'm very excited to see what this year brings Liam and his family!  Liam has been accepted to the Madonna Learning Center for the 2016-2017 classes, his kindergarten school year:)  I can hardly believe that the State of Tennessee passed an educational bill in January of 2016 that allows children entering kindergarten with special needs to receive up to $7,000 a year towards a private school tuition.  However, and very sadly, students currently enrolled in private schools needing this 'voucher,' would be required to have completed two consecutive semesters within a public school to be able to receive the 'voucher.'  Liam is so thankful to be entering into kindergarten this year!

Here we are today.
The Isaiah Institute 501(c)3 nonprofit educationally based corporation and its Board of Governors have decided to fund Liam Brown's education at the Madonna Learning Center.

Due to our generous donors, we were quickly given the $400 necessary for Liam's fall placement fee at the Madonna Learning Center.  The tuition last year was $12,200.  The State 'voucher' is approximated at $6,600 each year, and probably will not arrive until January of 2017 (giving a year since the bill passed).  The Brown family applied for the 'Most' scholarship offering an approximated $2,300 a year, but have been placed on a waiting list for this 2016-2017 year.  The Madonna Learning Center offers a need based scholarship for students, maybe $1-2,00 annually.  We'll need approximately $1,250 a month beginning in July of 2016.  Our goal is to collect $5,000 to help support Liam's fall semester, before his 'voucher' arrival in the spring of 2017.

The Isaiah Institute is in the process of creating an online silent auction running between Sunday, June 5th - June 12th.  Please let us know if you have any auction ideas for us!  We are interested in things that bring you joy!  If you have something you'd like to donate; please let us know about it.  Send a picture and a reserve price and we're happy to auction it for a child's EDUCATION; how great is that?  All proceeds are tax deductible.
